Petite collection of vintage and antique clothes irons at our Portland store.
All are in good condition.
From front left: a standard ‘sad’ iron so called because of the ancient root word for sit, which is what they do. In good shape, $15.
To the right, another sad iron, this time with removable cover/handle so one could have multiple irons on the fire, $25.
In the back row on the right is a coal-fired iron. Not much for steam but makes a good hot iron, $45.
Finally in the back left is a spirit iron, fired with alcohol and made in the booming heartland of American industry, Akron, Ohio. We wouldn’t guarantee it still works, but I’d be surprised it if didn’t. $60
